Route 164 northerly section starts in the small market town of Pocklington which is situated at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. The route is all on-road and travels across the rolling central Wolds via Millington, Huggate and Kirkburn villages.
The route joins Route 1 into Hutton Cranswick along Burn Butts Lane. Route 164 forms part of the fantastic Way of the Roses cycle route, which runs from Morecambe on the Irish Sea to Bridlington on the North Sea.
The southerly section runs from Beverley to Kiplingcotes via North and South Newbald.
