Route 91 of the National Cycle Network has been reclassified so that it now only includes sections around Armagh and Enniskillen.
Enniskillen section
Route 91 starts alongside the Dublin Road, close to the Gate House near Enniskillen Golf Club, before crossing the road and passing near Ardhowen Theatre. You can continue the route along Crest Road and Algeo Drive but this is not classified as NCN.
Route 91 takes up again at the end of Algeo Drive, continuing along a traffic-free path and over a bridge into the Lakeland Forum complex, before turning inland where you pass Fermanagh County Museum. Travel along Wellington Place onto Wellington Road, crossing another bridge.
The last stretch of Route 91 runs parallel to Henry Street and Sligo Road, ending at the turning for Old Rossorry Road where the North West Trail continues.
Enniskillen scenically sits between Lower and Upper Lough Erne, with a 15th century Castle at its centre. Both the town and the castle were expanded during the Plantation of Ulster.
At the edge of Lough Erne, you can see local flora and fauna including wading birds and wildflowers. There is an RSPB nature reserve which makes for a great stopping-off point.
