National Route 549 of the National Cycle Network connects Hurdlow in the Peak District with Waterhouses.

This route is currently open in two sections: one between Hurdlow and Waterhouses; one between Hatton and Etwall.

It is presently only proposed between Waterhouses and Uttoxeter. The traffic-free sections are found at most of Hulme End to Waterhouses, and then between Hilton to Etwall.
