The ecos Cycle Trail is a 17-mile cycle route between Ballymena and Glenarm, through and over the Antrim Plateau.
It also includes sections of on-road cycle tracks and traffic-free sections within the ecos Millennium Environmental Centre.
The ecos Millenium Environmental Centre is set in 150 acres of parkland where you can have fun exploring the natural world and how we use it.
You can experience wildlife at first hand in its natural habitat and learn about alternative energy technologies.
The route to the coast passes through the villages of Broughshane and Buckna then descends towards the Irish Sea via Glenarm, one of the nine Glens of Antrim.
Throughout the trail, the distinctive shape of Slemish dominates the skyline. You can take a detour off the route to climb it.
It is an uphill cycle of about one and a half miles to get to the car park at the foot of Slemish but is worth the effort. You can walk to the top of this landmark volcanic plug which is 437m above sea level.
There are lots of places to stop for refreshments in Broughshane, including the 18th-century Thatch Inn. There are public toilets at Broughshane, Slemish mountain and Glenarm village.
