Gift Aid: make your donation go further
Did you know you can boost your support, at no extra cost to you, by adding Gift Aid to your donations?
If you are a UK tax payer, you can register for Gift Aid by filling out a declaration.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a scheme run by HM Revenue and Customs, which allows charities to claim an extra 25p from every £1 that supporters like you kindly donate.
All Gift Aid income we receive is treated as unrestricted funding and will be directed wherever the need is greatest within our charitable objectives.
This extra money has a huge impact on the amount we can achieve, helping more people to walk, wheel and cycle.
How does it work?
This money comes from the government, so we're not asking you to pay a higher donation.
If you sign a Gift Aid declaration, we can claim an extra 25% of your donation from the taxes you have already paid the government.
Even if you are not employed, you are still eligible for Gift Aid if you are paying tax on any of the following:
Pension
Stocks and shares
Savings accounts
Rental income
Investment dividends.
Change of circumstances
If you have a name or address change, please let us know so we can keep your record up to date and continue to claim Gift Aid on your donations.
If you are no longer a UK tax payer, or want to cancel your Gift Aid declaration for any reason, you can let us know by email, over the phone or in writing.
Important information to note
If you have not paid enough tax then it is your responsibility to pay the difference.
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
