Face to face fundraising at Sustrans
Our fundraisers play a vital role in raising awareness and recruiting new supporters for Sustrans.
You make things happen
Face-to-face fundraising is a cost-effective way for us to raise much-needed income to make it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle.
Thanks to the kind generosity of our supporters, we’re able to connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute.

Where will you find our fundraisers
Fundraising on the National Cycle Network only, we have teams working in Devon and Cornwall, Brighton, Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, London, York, Manchester and Glasgow.
How we work
All of our face-to-face fundraising activity is managed by the Sustrans fundraising team.
Our in-house face-to-face fundraisers are contracted through our third-party recruitment agency Inspired People.
We expect all of our fundraisers to work to a very high standard and inline with the Fundraising Regulators Code of Fundraising Practice.
We ensure they receive extensive training before getting out on the Network to speak with members of the public about our work.

How do I recognise a Sustrans fundraiser?
Sustrans fundraisers wear green jackets, grey fleeces and grey or green t-shirts with the Sustrans logo and Sustrans photo ID.
Do face-to-face fundraisers accept cash?
No, our fundraisers aren’t allowed to accept cash. Our fundraisers are trained to only take donations through Direct Debit, this ensures maximum security for our supporters when donating.
Is it safe to give my bank details to a fundraiser?
All of our fundraisers are trained thoroughly to ensure they are compliant with GDPR. The devices we use to sign up new donors use an encrypted system to ensure maximum security.
One of the benefits of donating via Direct Debit is that you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. This means if there’s an error with your direct debit then you’re entitled to a full and immediate refund.
