At Moira, the route joins the Conkers Circuit and is an off-road section that leads through the heart of the National Forest for 6 miles to Measham.

Between Measham and Leicester make sure you take a look at Thornton Reservoir, a 31-hectare site that is a haven for wildlife and offers a wide network of trails and footpaths through the woodland areas.
The route also travels around Rutland Water Nature Reserve, a bird-watching paradise that is well worth a detour.
