Sustrans' new Scotland-wide cargo bike project coming soon

A forthcoming Scotland-wide cargo bike project will soon be bringing together knowledge and expertise on cargo bikes from across Scotland, to support more people to embrace this flexible, efficient and green means of transport.

A woman is unloading some wooden equipment from the front of a cargo bike. The scene is of a very busy park on a warm sunny day. There are trees just behind her and beyond is a wide open space where hundreds of people are relaxing.

We are pleased to announce that we'll soon will be delivering a Scotland-wide cargo bike project.

We'll be actively championing the use of cargo bikes for both personal and business use across Scotland.

As well as supporting businesses to overcome the barriers to using cargo bikes as an alternative form of transport.

Building a cargo bike network

The project will aim to bring together knowledge and expertise on cargo bikes from across Scotland.

We'll be building a network of providers from all over the cargo bike sector.

From bike maintenance providers, to loan schemes and storage solutions.

So if you're involved with cargo bikes in any way, we’d love to hear from you.

Offering a new cargo bike loan scheme

We'll also be offering a cargo bike loan scheme to local authorities and public sector organisations across Scotland.

This will allow organisations to trial the use of cargo bikes within their operations.

We welcome enquiries from any interested organisations.

We'll be actively championing the use of cargo bikes for both personal and business use across Scotland. As well as supporting businesses to overcome the barriers to using cargo bikes as an alternative form of transport.

More details on how to get involved will be announced soon, in the meantime:
