National Route 92 is formed of short sections of traffic-free route. It runs through the town of Omagh, and picks up a short section through the village of Lifford.
The next section comprises a traffic-free route along the Foyle into Derry. There are plenty of things to see and do here, including a range of museums and the city's historic walls.
Omagh section
Beginning just off the Hospital Road at the top of Riverview Road, Route 92 takes a path alongside the Camowen River up to the junction of Retreat Avenue and Retreat Close. Along Retreat Close is a mix of classified and unclassified route until just before the Killyclogher Road. After crossing the Killyclogher Road, another short route brings you out on Arleston Road. It is on-road along Arleston Road before Route 92 picks up again in Glencree Park as far as Omagh Leisure Complex. A path continues to the next section of Route 92 alongside Old Mountfield Road, turning onto Gortin Road until it reaches the junction with Glenpark Road.
Strabane section
A traffic-free reclassified route travels alongside Great Northern Link in Strabane, before Route 92 picks up again at the top of Main Street, beside the Mourne River, crossing the A5 road and travelling alongside the Lifford Road, across the Foyle River ending at Bridge Street, Lifford.
Derry section
Starting on a path off the Ballougry Road near Carrigans in County Donegal, the final section of Route 92 meanders alongside the River Foyle onto Derry Quay. From here, you can continue along the North West Greenway Network which crosses back over the border into the Republic of Ireland at Muff, Co. Donegal. Alternatively, you can cross the River Foyle, at Craigavon Bridge, the Peace Bridge or Foyle Bridge, and follow a section of National Cycle Network Route 93 which runs alongside the river, from the village of Newbuildings, joining the Waterside Greenway and continuing onto the Strathfoyle Greenway.

Useful information
Derry has a train station situated on the Waterside Greenway. It is part of the North West Multi-Modal hub and incorporates a Sustrans Active Travel Centre.
Visit Derry tourist information centre is located in the city centre at Waterloo Place.

North West Trail (Not part of the NCN)
The North West Trail travels through counties Tyrone, Fermanagh, Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, mainly on quiet, virtually traffic-free minor roads and lanes with short stretches of traffic-free path.
Foyle Valley Cycle Route – only short sections on NCN.
Inis Eoghain Cycleway - a mix of on-road and traffic-free, much of it not on NCN.
